December 25th, 2018. The way things are currently, this is potentially the last Christmas of the United Kingdom in the European Union. 

‘Last Christmas’ portrays the European Union as a Christmas tree: An object that brings joy and gifts to the people around it during the festive season, but as soon as that time is over it is discarded like trash. This analogy becomes representative of certain British ideologies, in which the European Union is seen as past its prime and it has to go, so that Britain can become the sole author of its future narratives.
